The heritage and values of Ideal Tile were forged by the immigrant experience of the Grillo family in the last century, truly the American Dream personified. When John, Nicholas & Mario Grillo began installing tile out of a carpet shop in New York City in 1963, little did they know that their fledgling business would evolve into one of most trusted & dynamic brands in the tile and stone industry.
Guided by deep core values, an unwavering faith in the American Dream, and an ironclad work ethic, the Grillo family opened their first Ideal Tile showroom in 1976. Located in Freehold, NJ it was one of the first showrooms in Central New Jersey uniquely dedicated to ceramic tile, providing a "one-stop" shopping experience that combined product, design, labor and after-install maintenance under one roof...the Ideal Tile experience! In 1986, Ideal Tile Importing Company was established to directly import tile and stone from all over the world to our growing number of showrooms, now totaling 25 showrooms & three importing hubs.
The core values established by the Grillo family over 40 years ago have served our company well and will continue to guide our growth into the future. Foremost of these core values is the enduring belief that our greatest asset is the relationship we build with our customers. It is a relationship that is earned through quality service, expert installation, and knowledgeable staff in each of our locations. Our heritage has shaped our values.
